Good morning Nevada Republicans,
July Fourth is our Independence Day; the meaning of this holiday embodies what it is to be American.
While most of will us celebrate this day with our families, barbequing and watching fireworks. It is important to remember that on this day in 1776 our forefathers adopted the Declaration of Independence, which finally separated us from Great Britain. John Adams wrote to his wife about the Declaration and said that it “will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”
Under our current administration many of the ideals that are outlined in the Declaration of Independence are being systematically stripped from the American people. There is only one way to change the destructive path that we are on. It is time to elect a new, Republican, President of the United States.
This day also holds a somberness that must be addressed. All of our armed forces past, present, future, living and deceased have guarded our borders with their lives. Placing the safety of the Country they promised to protect above their own, leaving their families, loved ones and friends behind to defend the Land of the Free from afar. I would like all of us to take a moment to remember the fallen and thank those that have served or are serving our Country for our safety.
It is my hope that all of you have a wonderful Fourth of July and that you will celebrate your American pride safely.
God Bless America.
